The Goose Fair!

This weekend I went to the GOOSE fair, Englands Oldest Fair! The fair was established about 700 years ago and was such an amazing time. It was bigger and better than any American Carnival I have ever been too.

You can read about the Goose Fair if you are interested, here: Goose Fair

I experienced some good ole British sweets and treats of popularity, mushy peas, handmade donuts, crisps and so much more.. only to head over to rides that threw me upsidedown and all around, I thought that it was all going to come out of me like the Exorcist (bad visual, I know).
The rides really were insane, I lost my voice screaming.. Then I decided to go on the classic swing ride, that goes round and round (you see them at most fairs) but this one went about 20 stories high, amy and I didn't think about it long enough, because as we got to the top we were literally just sitting in these swings out in the open, way up high, and I am afraid of heights!

Also this weekend I joined Amy's In-Laws for a proper Sunday dinner.. They are the most lovely people, Sid and Joan. Sid is in his 80s with a full head of hair and he has such a British accent that I cant understand anything he is mumbling, I smile and nod, try to catch what he is saying - for all I know he is calling me a puff (gay).. but I smile and nod. Joan is like Mrs Doubtfire, and calls you love or duck "how are you love? want some tea duckie?"..In the background she had put on a cd of British music. So as we made our way to the dining room, which was magical in itself and so British and quaint..The menu went like this @ noon: Arrive, have tea, have a sherry drink, biscuit, roast dinner, mashed, carrots, with dinner having pink wine, amaretto, then carrot cake, and just when I thought I was done a platter of cheeses and crackers, and another drink, then tea. Through it all, they entertained me by talking about the Queen!
